Britain imposes sanctions on settlements as 24 countries condemn E1 project

Breaking

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has announced sanctions against Israeli settlements, including trade restrictions and business activities limitations, and declared the occupation of the West Bank as illegal. The announcement came as 12 countries issued a joint statement on two-state solution, with some already supporting sanctions while others will support measures subject to European Union approval.

An additional 12 countries have joined in condemning the E1 settlement project. The coordinated international response represents a significant diplomatic escalation regarding Israeli settlement policy and the occupation of Palestinian territories.

The sanctions include restrictions on financial services, trade, and aviation related to settlement activities, marking one of the strongest coordinated international measures against Israeli settlement expansion in recent years.
