The chairman of the executive committee of Tel Aviv University, Eli Gelman, wrote today (Sunday) in a private WhatsApp group: "It's a shame that Netanyahu was not with them when the Iranian helicopter crashed."
After his message was published to the general public, Gelman hastened to issue an apology message, in which he wrote: "The words were written in a private group, without bad thought or intent, and in a very short time. My public role".
As you may recall, earlier today, a helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi was involved in an air accident in the country's East Azerbaijan province. It was reported on Iranian television that "one of the helicopters of the president's convoy was involved in the accident." It is still unclear what happened to the helicopter and if there were any casualties. According to reports, rescue forces are making massive efforts to locate the helicopter.
