The Israeli military has approved the re-establishment of Tank Brigade 500 for the first time since its disbandment in 2003, according to decisions made during a personnel allocation discussion led by the Chief of Staff. This marks a significant expansion of Israel’s armoured capabilities in response to current security needs.

Alongside the brigade’s revival, the IDF is establishing new Space and Robotics Brigades as part of a comprehensive modernisation of its command structure. These new units reflect the military’s strategic pivot towards emerging technological domains in modern warfare.

Multiple senior officer appointments have been made to command positions and key roles across regional commands and military attaché positions abroad. All appointments remain subject to approval by the Defence Minister, as per standard military procedure.
