A KLM flight from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv was forced to evacuate all passengers in Bucharest after a bomb threat was received during a crew change stopover. The aircraft had landed in the Romanian capital for routine crew rotation procedures when authorities received the threat concerning the airport area.
In response to the threat, all passengers were required to disembark from the aircraft to allow security personnel to conduct thorough searches and screening procedures. The evacuation was carried out as a precautionary measure while investigations into the threat were underway.
According to reports, KLM has been conducting crew changes in Romania since 24 October as part of operational procedures to avoid overnight stays in Israel. The incident represents a significant disruption to passenger travel on this key route between the Netherlands and Israel.
