Senior figures within Israel’s Change Bloc coalition have launched a sharp attack on Gadi Eisenkot, accusing him of prioritising his own political ambitions over the bloc’s broader strategy. The criticism centres on what critics describe as an excessive focus on consolidating his candidacy for party leadership, which they argue is diverting attention and resources from more pressing concerns.

Those levelling the accusations contend that Eisenkot’s personal campaign efforts are hampering the coalition’s effectiveness at a critical time. Rather than concentrating on what they describe as genuine threats to the bloc and efforts to bolster the Democratic Party, senior party figures say his team is preoccupied with securing his own position within the leadership hierarchy.

The internal tensions suggest mounting frustration within the Change Bloc regarding competing priorities. Critics argue that the senior party apparatus should be focused on external challenges and strengthening the coalition’s political position, but instead resources and attention are being diverted to internal leadership manoeuvring.
