Culture Minister threatens to revoke citizenship over Venice prize film

Culture Minister Miki Zohar has responded to an Israeli film’s prize win at the Venice Festival by threatening to revoke the filmmakers’ citizenship, calling their work a ‘betrayal of the state’. Zohar claimed he would pursue citizenship revocation despite lacking legal authority to do so, directing his criticism at directors Yuval Abrahami and Rachel Shour.
