Eight Jewish suspects arrested in West Bank operation following assault on journalist and diplomats

Breaking

Israeli police have launched a major arrest operation dubbed ‘Olive Leaf’ following violent incidents in the Benjamin region that have drawn international condemnation and criticism from senior US officials. Eight suspects have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the assault on Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine and attacks on foreign diplomats who were visiting the area.

The operation was led by the Judea and Samaria District Police in cooperation with the Shin Bet security service, accompanied by Border Police and IDF forces. Multiple vehicles were seized during the raids, which took place early Monday morning.

The arrests follow weekend incidents that sparked significant international outcry, with senior American officials publicly criticising the violence. The coordinated nature of the operation and involvement of multiple security agencies indicates the seriousness with which Israeli authorities are treating the matter.
