Each and every one of us probably has at least one WhatsApp chat – that they would prefer no one could see. If until now we had to hope that no one would accidentally be exposed to these messages, now a solution to the problem has been revealed. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced last night (Monday) a new feature that allows "locking the chats" using a password or biometric authentication.
The version that includes the new and quite useful feature is now available to users who have downloaded the latest update of the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone devices (iOS 23.9.0.71). However, it seems that it is expected to reach all devices soon.
How do you lock calls? The user will open the details of the chat in question to see the new option – "lock chat". These calls will appear in a window and can be opened using a fingerprint, ID verification or code.
This means that the preview is disabled, so that you cannot see messages or notifications from the sender of the message. In addition, the shared media will not be automatically saved on the device.
