Gun stolen from school security guard in Givatayim; suspect flees scene

Breaking

A firearm was stolen from a school security guard in Givatayim on Sunday afternoon, prompting a large-scale police search for the suspect. According to reports from both Walla and Ynet, the incident occurred on Yehoshua Yigal Street when a suspect allegedly fell near the school, and the security guard attempted to assist him before the suspect seized the guard’s personal weapon and fled the scene.

Police units from the Dan district station were dispatched to the area and launched extensive searches to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported in the incident, though authorities have described it as unusual and significant given the theft of a firearm in a school setting.

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation by police, who have mobilised multiple units to sweep the area. This represents a security concern given the weapon’s potential misuse and the location near an educational institution.
