IDF Chief of Staff Ayal Zamir announced that Israel’s sixth submarine, the Rahav-class submarine, is en route to Israel. Speaking at a combat engineering course ceremony, Zamir stated: ‘We will not allow the formation of existential threats’ and committed to operational readiness across all theatres.

Zamir announced a significant organisational development: a new IDF division dedicated to unmanned systems and artificial intelligence will be established during Hanukkah. He described this as ‘a transformation that occurs once in a generation’, reflecting Israel’s strategic shift toward advanced autonomous capabilities.

The announcements underscore Israel’s military modernisation efforts amid ongoing regional tensions and the integration of cutting-edge technology into operational doctrine.
