Israeli prosecutors have filed an indictment against five men from Jerusalem and Kafr Aqab on charges of involvement in terrorist activities and conspiracy to carry out attacks. The defendants are accused of acquiring weapons and planning bombings at a restaurant in Modiin and at a checkpoint near Ramallah.

Significantly, one of the indicted individuals was released as part of the hostage exchange deal in January 2025, raising questions about security protocols surrounding released detainees and the vetting process for prisoners exchanged in the agreement.
