Ten days after the attempted hijacking and downing of a Fly Dubai aircraft, the IDF’s “Global Trade” protocol has been exposed, detailing emergency procedures for suspected civilian aircraft hijackings.
According to the protocol, fighter jets are scrambled to escort potentially hijacked civilian aircraft. In extreme cases, authorities may make the decision to shoot down the aircraft, raising serious questions about when such a drastic measure would be authorised.
The revelation comes as Israel continues to grapple with aviation security following the incident, which sparked international concern about civilian safety and emergency response procedures in the region.
