Israeli Arab charged with pledging allegiance to ISIS and recruiting operatives

Breaking

Muhammad Suwitat, 21, from Shfaram in northern Israel, has been charged with active membership in the terrorist organisation ISIS. According to a joint statement from Shin Bet security service and Israeli police, Suwitat was arrested on 28 September after pledging allegiance to the organisation multiple times and spreading ISIS propaganda online.

During interrogation, authorities discovered that Suwitat had maintained contact with ISIS supporters and attempted to convince friends to support the organisation and join its ranks. He disseminated terrorist content on social media platforms as part of his recruitment activities. An indictment is expected to be filed against him in court on Monday.

This case reflects ongoing security concerns regarding domestic ISIS recruitment and radicalisation within Israeli Arab communities.
