However, he has shared a video on social media platform X depicting former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein executing and arresting members of his own party just two days after taking power.
The controversial post appears designed to make a political point about leadership and party loyalty, though the timing and nature of the share has drawn criticism. The video shows Saddam purging senior officials and party members, with 68 people subsequently arrested and tried on charges of treason following the 1979 coup.
The incident reflects broader tensions within Israel’s security establishment, with the Defence Minister’s office insisting there has been a concerted effort to misrepresent his recent comments about military leadership.
