Yossi Caradi, head of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, has issued a warning to global leaders regarding the loss of control over artificial intelligence systems, according to Israel Hayom.

In his letter to world leaders, Caradi cautioned that erroneous autonomous decisions could disable power grids or hospitals, highlighting the critical risks posed by advanced AI systems operating without human oversight.

The cyber chief is calling for clear protocols establishing which powers and decisions must remain under human control, signalling growing concern among Israeli security officials about the rapid advancement of autonomous AI technologies and their potential for catastrophic consequences if not properly regulated.
