Jordan launches airstrikes on terrorist positions in southern Syria following church attack

Breaking

The Jordanian military announced that the Royal Jordanian Air Force conducted airstrikes against terrorist positions in southern Syria on Monday in retaliation for a church attack that occurred on Friday.

According to Walla’s reporting, the attack targeted the Church of Harmoush in Karak, and the military confirmed that the terrorists responsible for the church attack were linked to the terrorist organisations that were struck. The Jordanian military characterised the operation as retribution for Jordanian casualties killed in the church bombing.

The strikes represent a direct military response to the terrorist attack and underscore regional security concerns in the southern Syria-Jordan border area. The operation demonstrates Jordan’s willingness to conduct unilateral military action against designated terrorist organisations operating from Syrian territory.
