Man drowns at Israeli beach as woman pulled from sea in critical condition

A man in his mid-40s has drowned at a beach in Hadera, northern Israel, in what marks another tragic incident in a series of water-related emergencies across the country. The incident occurred at the Fishermen’s Beach (Chof HaDayagim) in the coastal town, which lies roughly 40 kilometres north of Tel Aviv. Emergency services responded to the scene, but were unable to save the man. Separately, a woman aged around 50 was rescued from the water at a beach in Bat Yam, a seaside suburb south of Tel Aviv, and was transported to hospital in critical condition. The two incidents occurred within a short timeframe of each other. Earlier the same day, an 18-year-old youth was rescued from a swimming pool at Ein Bokek, a popular resort area near the Dead Sea in southern Israel, and remains in serious condition following the incident. The cluster of water-related emergencies has raised fresh concerns about water safety across Israeli beaches and recreational facilities during the summer season.
