Man shot dead by police after firing at home in northern Israel

Police in Israel’s northern district fatally shot a suspect on Tuesday after he was identified firing at a residential building in the village of Sulam. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and engaged the shooter, neutralising the threat. The suspect was taken to Emek Medical Centre in Afula, where he was pronounced dead.

A second person was also injured in the incident with minor to moderate wounds. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding that individual’s injury and establishing a full account of events leading up to the shooting.
