Nepal disaster death toll reaches 939 as search continues for Israeli missing

Breaking

The death toll from severe flooding and landslides in Nepal has risen to 939 people, according to authorities. The disaster followed a massive glacier collapse on the Nepal-Tibet border that triggered catastrophic flooding five days ago.

Among the thousands missing is an additional Israeli citizen. Rescue operations are focused on hydro-electric tunnels, with rescuers using explosives to create access holes. Recovery efforts have yielded only bodies so far.

A school principal is credited with saving 900 students, describing the rescue as succeeding by mere seconds. Rescue workers report: “We shouted but received no response.”
