Two Palestinian families have abandoned their homes near a newly established settlement on the outskirts of Jericho following the purchase of eight residential units in the area, according to Ynet reporting.

The Israeli military confirmed it has deployed forces to prevent Jewish settlers from taking control of the abandoned Palestinian properties.
