Aiya Assiyya (Abu Hajaj) was stabbed over 20 times by her half-brother and cousin whilst pregnant and in front of her young children for refusing to return to live with her father in the Negev. Her unborn child did not survive the attack. The two teenagers received 22 and 17-year sentences respectively, whilst their father was convicted of complicity in the murder and assault in a separate incident.
