Reservists challenge automatic discharge policy for trauma cases

One hundred seventeen reserve officers and soldiers have petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn an IDF policy automatically freezing service for those deemed over 30% emotionally disabled. Captain Amit Maoz argued before the court that the military’s own data shows 90% of such soldiers return to regular service, questioning why thousands of wounded fighters are sidelined for the remaining 10%. The petition challenges the blanket policy affecting reservists from captain rank upwards.
