Septuagenarian seriously injured in crash near Luzit

A man in his seventies has been seriously injured in a road accident on Route 353 near Luzit on Saturday. Emergency Medical Services (Mada) paramedics provided initial treatment at the scene before airlifting him to Barzilai Hospital by helicopter. A second casualty with minor injuries was also transported to the hospital by the same aircraft. The circumstances of the collision have not yet been detailed, though Route 353 in the southern Negev region has been the site of several serious traffic incidents in recent years. Mada crews were able to respond quickly to the scene, which proved critical given the severity of the lead victim’s condition.
