A terrorist was shot and killed in the Old City following an attempted stabbing attack on Israeli forces. The assailant entered through the Damascus Gate hours after Selichot prayers concluded.

Soldiers identified the attacker after he brandished a knife and attempted to stab them. The response resulted in the terrorist’s death. A Magav commander stated: “The soldiers acted with courage – exactly as I expect from them.”

The incident occurred during a sensitive period of heightened security operations in Jerusalem’s Old City.
