Security forces fatally shot a terrorist in Jerusalem’s Old City hours after the conclusion of Selichot prayers. The assailant entered through the Shechem Gate and was identified by Israeli troops conducting security operations in the area.

The terrorist was armed with a knife and attempted to stab soldiers after being confronted. Forces opened fire in response to the immediate threat, neutralising the attacker.

A Magav commander stated that troops acted with courage in accordance with operational procedures. The incident reflects ongoing security tensions in Jerusalem’s sensitive religious sites during the Jewish High Holiday period.
