The European Parliament voted to condemn Iran; Katz welcomed: "A blow to Tehran"

A war of iron swords: As part of the political attack led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Europe against Iran, and after the decision of the foreign ministers of the European Union to expand the sanctions regime against Iran – the European Union Parliament voted today (Thursday) in favor of a condemnation resolution against Iran, following its attack on Israel. The resolution passed by a large majority strongly condemns the Iranian attack on Israel.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz congratulated the European Parliament on its vote in favor of a condemnation resolution against Iran: "Another Israeli political success and another blow to Iran. We are tightening the choke ring around the neck of the Iranian octopus – the world understands that Iran needs to be stopped now before it is too late."

The main points of the declaratory decision:

• A call to add the Revolutionary Guards to the list of terrorist organizations.
• Expanding the sanctions regime, including to the oil and banking fields.
• Acknowledging Iran's non-compliance with the nuclear agreement and giving an ultimatum to comply with the agreement if Resolution 2231 of the Security Council is not implemented.
• Recognition of Iran's role in destabilizing the Middle East, including support for Hamas.
• Call for the implementation of resolution 1701 in Lebanon.

The declaratory decision is an achievement that clearly defines the European position towards Iran, and in practice fully recognizes and embraces Israel's position regarding Iran. As a reminder, just last Monday the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union expanded the sanctions regime against Iran and its missile and UAV project.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz: "Another Israeli political success and another blow to Iran." The free world understands that Iran is the biggest danger to regional and global order and peace and the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world.

The murderous regime in Tehran violates the nuclear agreement, develops offensive missiles and exports the Shiite revolution to the entire Middle East and Europe through the Revolutionary Guards and terrorist organizations.

The decision of the European Parliament is a milestone and marks goals that we will work to promote: We will work to impose crippling sanctions on Iran and curb its aggression. I congratulate the European Parliament for the important and unprecedented declaration today and call on all European leaders to act accordingly. Iran needs to be stopped now – before it's too late."
