Towards agreements in negotiations? Report: The deal brewing at the president's house

News 13 reported this evening (Sunday) about a possible deal that is brewing in the talks taking place at the President's residence regarding the reform of the judicial system . According to the report, the opposition will give consent to enact the ombudsmen's law and the reduction of the reason of reasonableness. On the other hand, the coalition will give a government commitment not to enact any law unilaterally on legal issues throughout the term.

The need for change: there is no longer any point in futile chatter in the president's house
It's time to end the discussions at the president's house, and admit: we failed opinion

As a reminder, the Yesh Atid party, led by opposition leader Yair Lapid , issued a statement earlier today that the government should urgently convene the committee for the appointment of judges, and demanded that it begin its work. In addition, the party announced that an overall agreement will be given on their part when there is full agreement on the articles of the reform.

Tensions in the coalition are of course increasing in preparation for the election of representatives to the committee for the selection of judges, which is expected to take place by June 15 , as required by law. A senior Likud official told 'Maariv' that heavy pressure is being exerted on Prime Minister Netanyahu within the party, with the aim of setting a deadline regarding reaching agreements on the composition of the committee by that date.
