Donald Trump has taken his first flight aboard a luxurious new presidential aircraft gifted by Qatar, which has been extensively modified and now serves as Air Force One. The plane underwent a costly renovation project totalling $400 million (approximately £320 million), which Trump claimed represented good value for money. “We couldn’t have built a plane like this,” he stated, dismissing concerns about the hefty price tag.
The aircraft, dubbed the “flying palace” due to its opulent interior, marks a significant upgrade to the traditional presidential aircraft. The modification project was lengthy and complex, involving state-of-the-art systems and luxury features befitting a head of state.
However, the maiden voyage was overshadowed by an unexpected row. According to CNN, Trump became visibly angry after seeing aerial photographs from a rally he had held, which revealed a notably sparse crowd attendance. The incident sparked tensions within his inner circle, with blame being exchanged among his advisors over the disappointing turnout and the subsequent media coverage.
