A two-year-old child is in critical condition after drowning in a swimming pool at a residential property in the Mateh Yehuda regional council, located south of Jerusalem. Emergency services arrived at the scene and administered medical treatment, including resuscitation efforts. The child was then transported to hospital for further emergency care. Mateh Yehuda is a regional council in the Judean Hills area, approximately 30 kilometres south-west of the capital. Drowning remains a leading cause of unintentional injury deaths among young children in Israel, with health authorities regularly issuing safety warnings to parents and caregivers about the importance of constant supervision around bodies of water.
