The United States Central Command has established a new “Iron Gate Task Force” to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons, technology and smuggled materials through Iran’s land and maritime borders in the Persian Gulf region, according to reports from Israeli sources citing US military announcements.
The move is designed to complement existing US naval blockade efforts. According to Centcom, the naval embargo has prevented Iran from exporting oil worth over $25 billion in recent months, significantly impacting Iranian revenue.
The task force represents an escalation in US efforts to contain Iranian military capabilities and disrupt its supply chains for advanced weaponry and materials.
