Police in the coastal Israeli city of Bat Yam opened fire on a knife-wielding man who ran towards officers on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred on Hashkama Street when authorities received a report of a suspect armed with a knife in the area. Officers responding to the scene made the decision to open fire in order to neutralise the threat posed by the advancing man. The suspect was wounded in the shooting and was taken to Wolfson Medical Centre in Holon, where he remains in serious condition. According to police, the incident is being investigated as a criminal matter, though specific details about the suspect’s identity and any possible motives remain unclear at this stage.
