The Israeli Health Ministry has issued an immediate warning to the public to cease use, sale and distribution of the DRAGONFLY hair straightening product. The alert follows the hospitalisation of a teenage girl who suffered kidney damage after undergoing a hair straightening treatment at a home salon.
According to the ministry’s investigation, the product’s license was previously revoked at the manufacturer’s request, despite the packaging displaying approval markings. The discovery raises serious concerns about unauthorised cosmetic products circulating in the Israeli market.
The ministry’s urgent directive reflects significant public health risks associated with the product, with medical intervention already required in at least one documented case.
