Five days after a massive glacier collapse triggered devastating flooding on the Nepal-Tibet border, the number of missing persons has reached 4,500. Among those unaccounted for is an additional Israeli citizen, adding to international concerns about the disaster’s scope.

Rescue operations are focused on tunnels within hydroelectric power stations, with emergency teams using controlled explosions to create access holes. However, recovery efforts have so far yielded only bodies, with rescue personnel reporting no responses to their calls for survivors.

A school principal recounted how he managed to save approximately 900 students, attributing their survival to what amounted to just ten seconds of reaction time. The school itself was buried by the floodwaters, demonstrating the catastrophic force of the disaster.
