The Israeli Defence Force and Shin Bet announced on Friday that they have eliminated Muhammad Mahmoud Mashal al-Qadi, a Hamas Nuchba Company commander who led the attack on Sderot military base during the October 7th massacre.

According to the statement, al-Qadi was killed in Khan Younis. During the ongoing conflict, he participated in holding hostages captive in Hamas custody in Rafah and was recently involved in efforts to rebuild the organisation’s capabilities.

The operation marks a significant targeted elimination of a senior Hamas military figure directly linked to one of the deadliest attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel.
