A traffic police officer in Jerusalem has been questioned under caution on suspicion of obstructing justice and breaching her duty of trust in connection with the investigation into the murder of Binyamin Razi. The Jerusalem Police Investigation Department conducted the inquiry on Wednesday into allegations that the officer, who is related to one of the suspects in the case, met with two of the suspects shortly after the violent incident occurred.
According to the allegations, during the meeting the suspects informed the officer about details of the incident. The officer is suspected of taking actions that could have hampered the investigation before any arrests were made in the case. Most significantly, police say she failed to report what she had learned to law enforcement authorities, as she was legally obliged to do.
Following her questioning, the officer was released on restrictive conditions. These include three days of house arrest, an eight-day suspension from duty, and a ban on contact with anyone involved in the case. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Nachlalim murder continues.
