Justices Isaac Amit and Daphna Barak-Erez have issued an interim order preventing enforcement of portions of the controversial National Security Minister law, considered one of the judicial reform package’s most contentious measures.

The decision came despite dissent from Deputy President Solberg. The interim freeze effectively blocks implementation while legal challenges proceed, raising fresh tensions between the judiciary and government over the scope of judicial review.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin responded to the decision, characterising it as evidence of judicial frustration with the government’s reform agenda.
