Turkey launches crackdown on LGBTQ+ community with mass arrests

Turkish police conducted raids on bars, nightclubs and activist homes across Istanbul and Ankara as part of a widening campaign against the LGBTQ+ community. The Justice Ministry announced proceedings against 162 suspects alongside nine organisations and 13 businesses. The operation represents an escalation in state pressure on gay and lesbian groups in the country.
